As Promised....kinda

Yesterday I promised you a recipe for eggplant lasagna.  Well, it's not quite ready to share.  I don't know if the eggplant had started to turn since I held on to it for 2 weeks, or what happened, but it wasn't quite share worthy yet.  I mean, I liked it alright, it wasn't something to write home about--and the MR wasn't a huge fan.  So...I'll do what I do and schedule it for a meal in the future and  tweak it a little here and a little there, and hopefully post it later.....

But what I will do is show you how to easily remove sticker residue.

I don't know about you, but I find it REALLY annoying when companies put sticker on a cup or glass and it leaves residue.  How about just a tiny sticker?  That would work, wouldn't it?

The MR. bought this gigantic, hard plastic, red solo cup from Kroger when we went grocery shopping with me last weekend.  (At least it was just a Red Solo Cup he tried to sneak in my cart this time instead of chocolate syrup, cookies, and icecream.)  And it had a LARGE sticker on it that covered 80% of the cup.  Ridiculous.

I tried everything to get that sticker residue off.  I soaked it in water.  I put it in the dishwasher.  I scraped it with a butter knife.  NOTHING WORKED.

So.  I got my pinterest on.

And you know what works????

Peanut Butter!  Yup.  Seriously.

Just slather it on...

Let it set for a few minutes....

And then I used a scrubby to get it off with a little soap and hot water....and Voila!  The sticky residue was gone.

As a major blogger fail, I forgot to get a picture of the results...but it's a Red Solo Cup that no longer has residue on it, that you wouldn't have been able to see in a picture anyway.

I have a feeling is had something to do with the oil that made it come off so easily, but it worked.

So...The next time y'all have some sticker residue.  Peanut Butter.  Use it!

Happy FRIDAY!

  1. I will keep that in mind! I have several serving dishes that had sales stickers on the bottom that never fully came off. I don't care too much because it's on the bottom, but that seems like a handy and easy trick!
