About ME!:

I'm a mid 20 something yankee that somehow found my way to the south!  I grew up in Western NY, (NO! NOT NY City) in a little town called Arkport!  I was raised on a vegetable farm, and grew up working at my parents road side market and deli!  This is where I learned how to cook!

After a few pit stops along the way (Bible college in Minnesota, A year in Virginia) I finally landed myself in Mississippi in the Spring of 2008!  I HATED it at first and had a really hard time adjusting, but by and by I have lost quite a few of my yankee tendencies and have slowly picked up a little southern charm.  I consider myself a hybrid, because I'm not really a yankee anymore, but I'm not a true southern belle either!

I have become really passionate about healthy eating and have recently added fitness to that passion!  I TRULY believe that what we put into our bodies affects every area of our health.  I try to prepare real, whole foods for the Mr & I every day, and we very rarely eat any processed foods anymore!  It is my hope to help encourage other women to start preparing real food for their families as well!  I've also recently started working out and getting in shape, and I'll be sharing my journey with you along the way!

I also love photography!  I'm trying to get a photography business up and running, but after working a full time job I'm finding it challenging to fit everything into my schedule!

About My MR!

My Mr. is my absolute favorite!  And he LOVES me.  That's all you need to know, right?  He works really hard every day in order to provide for our little family!

In his spare time you can find him working on some wood project for our home, and once in a blue moon you'll even catch him on his Polaris 4-wheeler that was his favorite before I came along!

Oh--and he eats anything that I cook him, especially now that I've learned to hide the tomatoes and the bell peppers better! He didn't even complain when I started making lettuce wraps instead of flour tortilla's for tacos & fajitas!

About us!

The Mr. and I met on July 2, 2011.  I was working my last shift serving table at Red Lobster, and he was there for his birthday.  His dad convinced me to take his number, I txt him that night, we went to the movies the following evening.  And I decided that would be our last date... He, however, had other ideas.  After much convincing I agreed to go on date 2...and the rest is history, we have been together ever since!  We got engaged October 29, 2011, and got married March 31, 2012, almost 9 months after we met.  It was a whirlwind of 9 months!  A lot of people told us that we were crazy for getting married so quick...but when it's right, it's right!  Our only regret was that we didn't get married sooner!

We recently discovered a joint love for camping.  He thought that I was going to HATE it because He considers me a "city girl".  But as long as I have more than a dirt hole to use for a bathroom, I'm pretty good to go!  And the best part?  After the initial cost of a tent it's a pretty cheap get away!

We have a "fur-baby", Molly.  She's not the cutest dog you've ever seen, but she's about the sweetest thing ever.

    1. Thanks! Our story definitely shows how God's plans are much bigger than our own...There are so many things that could have alterted the way me met that it's unreal! Like, they were supposed to go to a different restaurant that night, I had tried to get my manager to move me to a different section because I hated the section I was in, and then I tried to give away their table because they were waiting my now sister-in-law to get there, and in my mind I was losing money! AND I almost lost his phone number, I had to go pick it out of the trash, and I had never before txt a guy that left his number, so it was out of the ordinary for me to even agree!

  3. Awww! We got married 8 months after we first got together, but we'd been friends for a while first, so it wasn't quite so shocking! :P I am a fan of whirlwind romances!
